The 2711P-RDB15C is a PanelView Plus series 1500 display module manufactured by . It is a keypad/touch color display type of PanelView plus module. The 2711P-RDB15C has an integrated 15-inch display that is an ideal tool for industrial automation process visualization. It improves efficiency on the factory floor and it prioritizes important production parameters. This interactive module is used mainly for industrial machine control, instrumentation, and adjustment. The 2711P-RDB15C is a part of the modular PanelView Plus terminal system. The system consists of the display module, like the 2711P-RDB15C, logic module, and an optional module for communication. This modular form of the HMI provides flexibility for the users. For example, the 2711P-RDB15C can take the place of a smaller display module and provide more graphics space for the processes that have been upgraded to a more complex level without changing the other hardware components.

The 2711P-RDB15C keypad has numeric keys, navigation keys, and 40 function keys. The function keys are programmable by the users. When the module is first powered on, the system launches the FactoryTalk View Machine Edition software. This software is pre-installed in the display module and it runs HMI displays that are programmed by industrial automation engineers. The 2711P-RDB15C terminal also runs the Windows CE 4.1 OS. The 2711P-RDB15C terminal provides standard Windows features like a command processor, Explorer shell, and Network user interface. It has a built-in PDF viewer for reading content documents and a mechanism for creating backups which can be restored in case of a system malfunction. The applications running on this module can be restarted by pressing the reset button in the back of the 2711P-RDB15C module. One of the useful applications running on this display module is the Logo Manager which is used to change the logo that is shown on the splash screen at startup and to design the default screen saver image. The 2711P-RDB15C can be connected to various external peripherals such as a printer. It also supports ActiveX controls and remote connectivity and it can be panel mounted in NEMA, UL, or IP-rated enclosures.
